Testing out some new iphone apps

Happy Tuesday everyone. Today has been a much better day energy wise. I think back to back outdoor runs this past weekend had me feeling a little wiped out yesterday so last night I went to bed early, and today with the exception of a slight sore throat I am feeling back to normal.

This morning at the gym I got 3.15 miles on the treadmill, 15 minutes of eliptical, and 10 minutes of rowing done. After the gym I headed home got Connor and I out the door and headed to work.

This morning was spent with more training and reading. My new manager suggested a book beyond selling value so while I have some downtime I am working my way through that and enjoying the country stations on Iheart radio.

At lunch I did things in reverse, I ate my salad with tuna with the gang and then headed out for a little extra mileage since its warmer than yesterday. I have been using a pedometer app which serves its purpose but my husband suggested I try runkeeper instead.

This app worked much better. Every five minutes you would get an audible cue to your distance, pace, etc. Since I am dressed for work I wasnt using it for running purposes but I will be interested to try this on my next outdoor run as I definitely feel that it will help my pacing. In 30 minutes I was able to complete another 1.67 miles and at the same time get some vitamin d and fresh air.

This afternoon will be spent with more reading and we have a meeting right before the end of the day, so I am off to continue my book. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Starting to feel more like home

Hi everyone, Happy Monday. Today is the start of my fourth week at the new job wow that went by quick. Today started with a mixed bag at the gym. Since I ran both weekend days outside I wanted to get a little cross training in today. I did 15 minutes stairclimber, 20 minutes and 4 miles on the bike, 2.25 miles on the treadmill, and 15 minutes of weights.

At work I finally got my big monitor so now I'm not reading off a laptop screen. What a difference that makes

A former colleague of mine started at my work today too so I got to show her around and help her get acclimated to the new surroundings. We had lunch downstairs so I didnt get my mileage in at lunch but I enjoyed catching up and my legs enjoyed the break after all their work this weekend.

I hope to get some additional sculpting work in tonight but we'll see how my energy levels are. For right now its time to get back to reading so I hope everyone is having a good start to the week.

End of Cake Fest and Start of a new week

Hi everyone sorry for the mia, I had more formal training the rest of last week and this weekend I got two outdoor runs in which led to lazy napping afternoons :-)

Connor's birthday was a success. He loved his cake and his power ranger doll.

Last week I set these fitness goals

Mileage 4 miles daily
Weights 15 minutes 4 times this week
Biking 15 miles
Crosstrain 3 times with brazillian butt lift

My results
Mileage 31.32 miles
Weights 15 mins 3x
Biking 11 miles
Crosstrain 1 session of brazillian butt lift, 20 mins stairclimber, 35 mins eliptical, 10 mins rowing

I'm pretty pleased with the results. Especially with all the extra party planning last week. This week my goals are going to be

Mileage at least 4 miles a day
Weights 15 mins 4x
Biking 15 miles
Crosstrain at least 4 20 minute sessions including other cardio machines or brazillian butt lift

Today I took advantage of some sunny weather and got 5.37 miles of outdoor mileage in I also did the brazillian butt lift bum bum dvd. Let me tell you the running/butt lift combo really makes you feel those muscles. This week there are no birthdays to get ready for so things will finally get back to normal. On that note I should probably get things ready for tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Beautiful Day

Hi everyone, Happy Tuesday. Another good fitness day today. This morning I tested out my new arm band for my phone at the gym and was so much easier to get my routine done. I got in 3.2 miles on the treadmill, 20 minutes of stairclimber, and 15 minutes of weights.

After the gym I headed home, helped get the kids ready for school and wished Hubby a Happy Birthday. Since we are still recovering from me being out we are skipping big presents, however I did get some frames for the pictures of the kids I had printed out, and made him a nice cake for tonight.

Yes my cakes pretty much all get decorated the same way but I mix up the flavors. Its tough to be creative when you got three cakes to make in one week :-) My mom really enjoyed her marble cake with vanilla frosting last night.

Tonight for my hubby's birthday we will be enjoying carrot cake with cream cheese whipped icing.

So that I am still keeping on track with trying to lose those few holiday pounds I ventured outside at lunch today to get a little more calorie burn in. The weather is beautiful, the sun is shining, the snow is melting and I ended up carrying my coat half way through as I was too warm with it on, a rarity around here for January.

Today I started out behind the building and explored a little more of the office park

I ended up getting another 2.36 miles in and got a nice dose of vitamin D.

This afternoon will be more reading and watching webinars. Tomorrow is the start of our more formal training which will be a nice change as I tend to get more out of a structured session than to be left on my own.

Time to get back to work. Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

The start of birthday week

Happy Monday everyone. Its the start to another great week, and especially this week as it is filled with birthdays galore. The day started with a good cardio fest at the gym. 3.09 miles on the treadmill and 5 miles on the bike.

I finally came out of the cave with the whole iphone thing thanks to getting the free one to use at work, and I must say I love the iheart radio app. I set it on the spincycle station for my runs on the treadmill and its the perfect mix to keep me motivated and its never the same so I don't fall into a rut with the same boring playlists.

As a result I needed to get something to hold my phone as it worked ok on the treadmill since there is a spot for it, but the other cardio machines and weights made it difficult the accomplish without having to hold it in my hand.

So today's lunch walk included a trip to the mall where I got another 1.25 miles in to make my goal of 4 for the day. I went there to look for this and to get a little something for hubby's bday tomorrow. I looked at the apple store but they wanted $40 which sounded like a ton since we are still digging out from me being out of work. So I headed over to my favorite store Target and found this for $22.49.

I am very excited to try it out tomorrow. I might actually let hubby try it first tonight at the gym and if he likes it I'll pick another one up tomorrow but he will be happy either way since we were sharing his ipod for the last couple months :-)

After the gym I headed home got ready and then dropped Connor off at the Birthday Girl's house. Yes its my mom's birthday. She told me not to make a big deal but everyone should have cake on their birthday so I made her one last night. Marble with vanilla frosting and sprinkles.

To give myself some room for this I am trying to keep lunch on the lighter side with a salad with tuna for lunch. We plan on having the cake when I pick up the kids, so since they will be having this before dinner they probably wont eat much of an actual dinner but once in awhile its ok to not be as stringent.

This afternoon will be spent reading some more white papers and listening to recorded webinars to continue with my training. I hope everyone is having a good start to the work week. Until tomorrow.

Snow, Football, and getting back to setting goals

Hi everyone. Here we are the start of another week. Yesterday I was home solo with the kids for most of the day so by the time I sat down it was to collapse from exhaustion.

We finally got some snow, right in time to mess with my outdoor run so I was sentenced to continue with my treadmill mileage. The kids on the other hand were excited to get some snow.

Since the snow didnt melt enough and the sidewalks and roads were still messy this morning I headed back to the gym for more treadmill. This week my goal is to get at least 4 miles of mileage in a day by either running or walking, so I'm off to a good start. 4.15 miles treadmill, 15 mins eliptical, and 15 minutes weights abs.

In addition to my mileage goals I am going to start adding some new things to mix things up so for this week my goals are

Mileage 4 miles daily
Weights 15 minutes 4 times this week
Biking 15 miles
Crosstrain 3 times this week. I got brazillian butt lift about 6 months ago but never really remained consistant with it so I am going to start adding into the rotation

This afternoon my father in law is over watching the pats game

Time to get back to the game and my company so I hope you all have a good
rest of the day.

Preparing for January Birthday Fest

Well we made it to Friday, can you believe I have officially worked a whole pay period at my new job which is good as I am looking forward to that first check next week.

Today I had to drag myself out of bed a little since I fell asleep on the couch but then woke up late night and didn't get back to bed until about 1.
Today I got 20 minutes of eliptical in 2.4 miles on the treadmill and 15 minutes of weights.

This morning at work was spent with more training and a conference call with my boss since he's remote this week. After that I put the finishing touch on my calendar order which will be presents for hubby's birthday and my mom's birthday and then headed out to take advantage of the kid free time to pick up a couple small things for Connor's birthday, told you it was birthday fest.

This new job is great because it located just about 5 minutes from whatever you need including Toys R US

Funny how much of a different experience it is being in there when its not the mad holiday rush. I ended up getting him a puzzle, a couple matchbox cars that climb up metal which is a big hit in our house, and the piece de
resistance

For those who have met Connor you will understand how incredibly excited he will be with this. He is obsessed with Power Rangers especially the red one and this one talks and everything, I can't wait to give it to him :-)

When I got back I did a few laps before grabbing my salad and got another 1.8 miles of walking in to keep consistent with my 4 miles a day combined goal. I will be spending the afternoon shadowing another coworker so I better go finish up my salad. Hope everyone has a good weekend and GO PATS!

Back to basics

Hey everyone Happy Thursday, one more day to go before the weekend. Today started with an early wakeup. After dinner last night I was so exhausted I fell asleep on the couch around I think 8:30 or something crazy like that so I was up pretty early this morning I think about 4:00am.

Since I didnt get my usual evening chores done I made lunches, put the coffee on, started a load of laundry and brought in the 7 bags of pellets I got last night on the way home.

I counted that as my warm up especially the pellets. I headed to the gym and got 25 minutes of stairclimber 2.25 miles on the treadmill and 10 minutes of rowing done.

I'm still carrying those extra few pounds from the holidays around so I am going to get back to basics.

1) Watching my portions- When hubby and I were first starting out on our weight loss journey I was very vigilant on what the portion was, carbs etc.
I'm not going that gung ho but I am going to start to food journal again and be honest about the actual portion I am eating ( Have you ever looked at what a real portion of cereal is?)

2) Incorporate more fruits and veggies.

3) Get back into planning fitness goals for the week
I will start weekly ones next week but for the next 30 days one of my major goals is to get at least 4 miles in a day. They may not all be running but running/walking combined I want to get in 28 miles a week for the next month to see if that uptick in activity helps get these couple lbs off. Since I wont do 4 miles every morning, I have started to bring my sneaks to work to try to get a couple of these miles in at lunch schedule permitting.

Well time to get back to training. Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

Indoor Exploring

Hey everyone Happy Wednesday. This week is going by pretty quickly. Today started with a good session at the gym. 5.4 miles on the bike, 1.3 on the treadmill, 20 minutes eliptical, and 15 minutes of weights/abs.

Today at work was more training. I got to shadow another rep during the morning, and I have a few calls lined up for this afternoon. During lunch because it was a lot more windy and cold today I decided to explore the inside of the buildings instead.

Overall I was able to log another 1.7 miles. I used my iphone pedometer to keep track of the mileage.

I got in some stairs

Did some laps in the halls connecting the buildings

And I even checked out the fitness center to see what their prices were like

The fitness center here is pretty nice however, my goal with my afternoon fitness is most of the time for it to be a supplement to my morning routine as more of a wake up call to give my metabolism a little bit of a boost. They want $30 a month if I go non commitment and while thats not a ton I already pay $25 a month at the club I belong to, and I feel like I'm going to be getting more outdoor walks in during this time than indoor ones. The manager said they are trying to negotiate a deal for my company so if the price is lowered I might change my mind.

So now I'm finishing up my sandwhich and then its time to get back to work. Hope everyone is having a good middle of the week.

Change of Plans

Hi everyone happy Tuesday. I got a good night's rest as was up early to get a good cardio session in. It snowed a little last night so I knew I would have to give myself a little extra time to clean the car. I also decided to take hubby's car as we need to get the rear breaks fixed on the minivan.

I headed out and turned on the car and then went searching for his snow brush. I first checked the trunk as that is where I keep mine. Not there so I shut the trunk like normal. Then I hear what I think is ice and snow falling from the window. I thought to myself good less work for me to clean off. I continue to clear the rest of the windows and then go to put the brush in the trunk when I notice its not clear glass.... its NO GLASS

The rear window shattered. I am still trying to figure out what happened. This car has been vanadalized before and we live on a main street in the city so it could have had a chip in it, or maybe the change in temp but regardless it wasn't being driven to the gym.

I went back in called the insurance agency and set up for the window to be fixed. When that was done I managed to get two miles in on the treadmill and half of level 2 of Jillian Michael's 6 week 6 pack.

I headed to work and this morning was more shadowing and gathering useful documents for when I start calling for my reps. Since it was warmer today in the 40's which is warm compared to the last couple days, and because I know I'm a lot less likely to add mileage at the end of the day I strapped on my sneaks and headed outside to explore a little.

I must say the property management for this building does an excellent job of clearing the snow and adding icemelt to the sidewalks. They also have a nice sidewallk path that winds through the parking lot and over to the adjacent hotel parking lot.

I discovered that the paths connected on the way back, on the way down I walked a little in the main road as well

I downloaded a pedometer app on my iphone and in total I covered another 2.3 miles of brisk walking with a little bit of hills. If I have enough energy I might do a 30 minute session later on from exercise tv but we'll see how I feel after dinner. At least combining the morning and afternoon work I feel like I got a good enough workout in as if I would have been able to go to the gym this morning as planned.

Well lunch is almost over so going to wrap this up. Hope everyone has a great day.

Working Holiday

Happy Monday and Martin Luther King Day to everyone. Because we have presdients day off, today was a working day for me but a vacation day for the kiddos. As a result I got a little extra time in at the gym completing 3.56 miles on the treadmill, 15 minutes on the eliptical and 15 minutes of weights and abs.

After the gym I enjoyed a nice hot shower as it was bitterly cold today and then dropped off the kiddos and headed to work. The morning was spent shadowing one of my new coworkers, and this afternoon after lunch will be some training with my manager.

At lunch I ventured out because I needed a few things at target. Another nice perk of my new job is that I am about 5 minutes away from the mall.
Because of the holiday there wasn't a ton a parking available though so I parked at the opposite end of the mall and added a little mileage walking down to my destination. I took this while walking so dont mind the darkness from my finger in the corner.

As usual I only went in for a couple things but a display of kid clearance boots caught my eye. The other day when we had crappy weather Tim was looking for his boots but couldn't find them and he and his sister actually were trying to get one more season out of their boots when they should really be wearing the next size up.

I got a great deal as they were both half price, both pairs for about $30 total .

I also got a little something for myself on the way out. I'm not going to get into the latte everyday habit again but since I'm working on a holiday and all

Well time to get back to work. Hope everyone is having a good holiday or start to the week.

New Shoes

Hey everyone, where did the weekend go. We didn't do a ton this weekend but I still feel a little on the exhausted side.

This weekend I had planned on getting an outdoor run in but it was brutally cold so Saturday I got 2.15 miles treadmill and 30 minutes eliptical and today I got 3.09 treadmill and 30 minutes stairclimber. I had planned on some weights later in the day but instead I finally ventured out with the kids for some new running shoes.

We headed to Whirlaway Sports in Methuen MA. I had always seen their ads at the local races I run, but whenever we had a little extra money it usually went towards something for one of the kids. Today I decided it was my turn since my pinky toes were starting to make holes on the side of my sneaks.

The consultant there observed my stride and suggested three pairs for me to try. One was from Saucony, one from Asics, and one from Mizuno. My last two pair were Mizuno's but I put those on last so I could try the other two. The Saucony were too hard feeling, and since I had Mizunos for the last two pairs I felt like I wanted to try something different. The Asics were nice and cushy and ended up being my choice of the three.

I am excited to try them out tomorrow at the gym. Right now though I have to wrap this up and get ready for bed. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
and has a good start to the week.

Sorry for the MIA

Hey everyone Happy Friday. Wow did this week go by quick. Since I am in training mode and reading/ trying to absorb info by the time I get home at night I am wiped out on the couch.

I have been keeping up with my fitness. Today was 6 miles on the bike, 20 minutes on the stairclimber and 15 minutes weights/abs. After that I headed home got the kids off to school and Connor's to my mom's and then headed to work. We got a little snow yesterday although there is more at work than home but its was still kind of freezing/messy this morning.

I've been on a tuna kick this week but accidentally made what was supposed to be my sandwhich with Miracle Whip instead of mayo so that left me needing lunch today. Since the weather was crappy I decided to walk to mile to the caf in this building. There are three buildings all interconnected. We are situated in building 300 and the caf is in 100 so it literally feels like a mile to walk there

I ended up with a salad with Grilled Chicken for five bucks. Not too shabby

This afternoon will be spent listening to some more webinars and doing more reading. I think I'm going to make it a pizza night tonight so me and the kiddos can hang out. I might start making lunchtime my new time to blog so I don't disappear for days at a time :-)

Hope everyone has a good rest of the day, until tomorrow.

A new chapter

Hey everyone, yes I'm still alive just started the new job this week and while I had planned to blog last night, but I managed to fall asleep with Connor instead.

Today started with a good sweat session at the gym. 6 miles on the bike 1.3 miles on the treadmill and 10 minutes of rowing. I had planned on doing a little more tonight but I think I might head to bed early instead.

This week I started my new job. The culture at my new company is so much healthier and laid back. I know its only going to be day 3 tomorrow but I am loving it so far.

I got my nameplate today

This is my new home from home, keep in mind I haven't brought in decorations/pictures yet

all the free soda we want

and today this blackberry girl got her very own company issued iphone. I spent most of the afternoon playing with this.
Tomorrow we will start move of the official training, so I should probably finish up lunches before I head to bed since I have a 5:30 am gym session planned. Hope everyone is having a good start to the week. Until tomorrow.

Celebration Dinner

Today was a pretty good day. Started the morning with my usual gym trip logged 2 miles on the treadill and 30 minutes on the stairclimber. After the gym I headed home and got the kids ready to head out for some more errands.

After lunch we headed out to get the boys haircuts. Well all the boys except Jake who requested that we leave his hair the way it is. After that we headed back to the mall and got Grace and Tim some shoes with their stride right certificates

To celebrate and give me a break from my almost three weeks straight of cooking we went for an early dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. This place is great for kids because its so noisy in there that they can pretty be as loud as they want without bothering anyone.

The peanuts they had on the table however did cause a little trouble as Tim thought he woul be smart and open the shell with his styrophone milk cup. This was the result

After our cleanup we resumed our good time and had a great meal.

Well my eyes are getting tired so I'm going to wrap this up. Tomorrow I might get an outdoor run in as it has been a little warmer that usual but we will see what the day brings. Hope everyone has a great night

Getting things organized

Hey everyone, Happy Friday. Today started with a 7.8 mile bike ride on the expresso bike followed by 1.37 miles on the treadmill. I did also walk around the mall for an hour with Connor so I am counting that as a little additional cardio.

When I got home from the gym I had a quick breakfast and then Connor and I headed out to do errands. We got the dry cleaners done, gased up the van, and faxed back my offer letter. After that we took a trip to the mall.

All the kids got gift certificates for new shoes from stride right. The particular one that we normally go to is actually closing as was having a 50% off sale so I stopped in there with the $40 gift card I had for him.
I was able to get both a pair of sneakers and a pair of shoes and it totaled $39.99.

After the shoe store we looked a little for me. I got a cute short sleeved blouse. I will take a pic when I wear it which may be my first day but we will see how warm it is and how warm my new workplace is since my last one was always freezing.

We also stopped and got a new shower liner which is good since the one upstairs was gross.

After the mall we picked up the kids at school and headed home. I was able to get a 45 minute weight dvd done, Brazillian Butt Lift sculpt. It uses lighter weights but because there a lot of reps you definitely feel it.I am trying to incorporate some new things into the rotation as you can only run so much before you get burned out.

I may also need to start food journaling again. Over the holidays I gained 4 lbs. Now I know this isnt a ton of weight but if I take that attitude towards it I can easily spiral back to the bigger girl I was growing up. I also have to get these pounds off because now I have to get back to pants with buttons versus the comfy yoga pants I have been sporting the last couple months you can definitely feel where the pounds ended up.

This evening I spent time going through the closet to make sure I had at least 5 outfits to start out with. I have enough pieces to mix and match but its always nice to rotate a few new things in. Hopefully once I start getting a steady check again I can add a few more things and maybe another pair of shoes.

Well thats the update for today. Tomorrow I am going to try to get Grace and Tim new shoes with their certificates and if we can swing it maybe haircuts for the boys. As for right now I am hitting the hay. Hope everyone has a good night.

Cold but productive day

Hey everyone, today was one of those days where I would rather have stayed in bed instead of getting myself up at 5:30am and heading off to the gym.

It has been unseasonably warm in these parts. That came to an end today

Now that says 10 but it felt more like -10 with the wind. I did however warm up pretty quickly once I got going at the gym. As an added bonus they were giving out $.50 off tuna coupons. This worked out great since we finally got my unemployment check and could food shop today.

I ended up taking 8 of them :-). Hey every little bit helps right now. At the gym I logged in 4.15 miles on the treadmill and 20 mins of weights and abs.

When I got home I fueled up with some cereal and a little couch time in front of the fire with Connor. We did commit to going to meet at the diner with my mom and aunt though so our lounging was short lived.

After breakfast we got dressed, headed to the diner and sat and chatted for about an hour. After that we headed up to the wholesale club and grocery store. Now I would buy a lot more in bulk if we had another fridge/freezer but since we are working with one I can only stock up so much, well that and the money issue. I was able to use $35 in coupons and after that savings for a total of $287 we got this

I'm hoping to stretch the meat in this order for two weeks. I will have to replenish the dairy/produce but that should be all we will need next week which will cut down on those costs.

On the job front I got my offer today. I was disappointed to know that the kids school has a very limited after school program with a waiting list to boot. I had the luxury of picking my kids up, bringing them to my mom's and going back to work with my old job. With this new opportunity its a little further away so I needed to find someone that will be able to pick up Grace and Tim and bring them to my mom's.

As luck would have it Jake's stepmom isn't working right now so she is going to help us with transportation, which is going to help a ton. I am going to confirm everything tomorrow but it looks like I'm going to be back in the working world on Monday, so this weekend will definitely be spent organizing, working on meal prep and getting ready for this new chapter.

Well its just about time to start working on dinner so I should go prep that. The kids are going to have some flat bread pizza and I am making hubby and I a nice chicken pot pie. Hope everyone has a good night.

Clean Slate

Hi everyone. Today was a start to a new week, a new year and time for me to think about what I want to accomplish for the year. I started the day with an early gym session. 3.07 miles on the treadmill, 20 mins eliptical and 20 mins abs/weights.

When I got home I got breakfast for the kids and hubby took a turn at the gym. When he got home we headed to the park for the kids to get some fresh air and exercise and then dropped Jake off at his dad's.

When we got home, I felt like a nap, but instead I wanted to get the Christmas cleanup started. We took our tree down, packed up some old toys for charity and organized the new additions.

That's pretty much where the motivation ended for today, most of the rest of the day was spent watching tv and cuddling with the kids.

So on to the goals. There are still a lot of things up in the air right now. I'm hoping to hear more on the new work opportunity tomorrow. This will really be a determining factor in how successful I am in accomplishing these goals.

Fitness
I was thinking I might want to run a full marathon this year instead of half but its really going to depend on how much time I can devote to training. I know I am definitely doing at least the half again and will be sticking to the one race a month like I did in 2011.

I definitely want to focus on trying some new things exercise wise. This might mean taking a class at the gym or buying some different dvds for at home but I definitely feel like I'm getting in a rut.

Finance
Money wise once I am able to secure a new position,I really want to focus on consolidating our debt and getting our balances paid off as soon as we can. Being off for these last couple months really was an eye opener to how quickly we can burn through backup funds. Right now being in that gray area where we dont qualify for assistance but are living very much check to check is not the way I want to be living our lives. I am hopeful with this pending offer that we are really going to be able to at least get things back on the right track.

Family
I want to continue to work on both spending more time with the kids, and also focus more on time with hubby. As far as the kids go I want to be able to spend more time with them outside of sports and homework. There are sometimes not enough hours in the day to get everything done but I want them to look back on this time with fond memories of what we did together.

As far as time with hubby goes, we don't really go on dates. We had the luxury of going on a little date night when I won those concert tickets in November, but prior to that I think our last date was about a year before that for a family wedding. I definitely want to work on that part of our relationship. Now we just have to find someone besides my parents who don't mind watching four kids :-)

So those are the categories I am focusing on for 2012. The goals might be a little broad at the moment but once I have the job stuff figured out I will commit to more specific goals. Well time for bed hope everyone has a good night

First Run Recap

Good evening everyone. Hope you all had a great start to the new year. The kids still have tomorrow off so I am losing track of what day it is. I wanted to update my first race of the year the first run 5k in Lowell. I really should be signing up for the 10k mileage wise now, but I haven't really did a longer race since my half and you never know what type of weather you are going to get in January so I opted for the 5k and ran with my sister and brother in law.

I decided to add a little mileage/warmup for the race by running from my house over to the starting line. We live 1.67 miles from the start so between that, the race and the walk to where hubby had to park the car I got about 5.14 miles in for the day in total.

I felt pretty good race wise. I improved my time over last year's first run by about 20 seconds finishing in 27:03. I was a little bummed as I registered too late for a t-shirt but got a nice finisher medal which can also serve as a wine stopper.
I was going to take a pic of this too but it seems to have disappeared which means I'll probably find it in one of the toy bins tomorrow. So you can at least see what the ribbon on mine looked like and what the rest looked like on the group pic of me, my sis, and brother in law.

Hubby and the kids helped cheer me on. I was hoping to get a finishing picture of me but by the time I ran by hubby he hadn't noticed me because it was pretty crowded. After the race we walked back to the car, but stopped briefly for the kids to enjoy a little rolling down the hill time

I plan on sticking to the one race a month resolution like I did for 2011 as it definitely helps me stay motivated to run, even on those cold winter days when I would much rather be bundled by the fire. Tomorrow is a gym day so based on what equipment is available will determine what my cardio ends up being. Hope everyone has a great rest of the night.
