Start of Training Week

Hey everyone, Happy Monday. My posts may be a little sporadic this week due to the training workshops that I will be in.

This morning my arch was still bothering me from yesterday's longer run so instead I focused on cross training at the gym. I covered 6 miles on the bike, 20 minutes on the eliptical, and 15 minutes of weights.

Today was the first day of sessions. Its definitely a good review but at the same time I will be glad next week when I'm officially able to start doing the job.

This week they are providing us lunch. While its nice not to have the expense, I can see that I might still be bringing some stuff in as today even though there appeared to be healthy choices, the salad had a good amount of dressing on it, and so did the sandwhiches. When you are used to making your own salad and controlling the calorie intake this can present a problem.

I did eat some of the salad, the turkey out of the sandwhich, and a little pasta salad. I also had a couple bite sized pieces of cheesecake. Because I know this wont hold me until dinner I made a quick run to starbucks for some provisions.

Well better get ready for sessions to start again. Hope everyone is having a good start to the week.

Haircut Day

Hey everyone Happy Sunday. I finally got some outdoor mileage in despite the wind making me feel like I was running with a lead vest on. I ended up covering 7.28 miles. I also got in 20 minutes of brazillian butt lift and 20 minutes of abs.

After recovering from my active morning we took the kiddos to get haircuts.

For a Sunday afternoon it wasnt super crowded so we were in and out pretty quickly. I think the most dramatic change of the group was Grace. Bob and I were sick of trying to comb/ detangle her hair and this gives her a cute new look to try. She keeps talking about her haicut and was pretty excited with the results.

The boys ended up looking pretty cute too

When we got home we had a nice lasagna dinner and a visit from Uncle Pete.
Hubby just got home from dropping him off and is getting the kids tucked in. I am resting on the couch as I did something to my right arch on my run, so I'm hoping that it will feel better in time for the gym tomorrow or there may be some lighter workouts in my future.

Well the Oscars are starting so I'm going to go watch a little before hitting the hay. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Kind of a detoxing week

Hey everyone, Happy Friday. We've made it through another week and I finished my first week of the more formal training.

This week started out as one I was going to focus on detoxing including a focus on both veggies, and fruit like my go to 3pm work snack apple and barney butter

For the most part I did pretty good if you don't count yesterday when I had both my favorite Panera bagel in the morning, and a little more Ben and Jerry ice cream than I planned on in the evening while watching Grey's. I did however stay consistent with my exercise so I think that definitely helped with at least not adding to the little bit of weight gain that I am still aiming to take back off.

At the gym today I gave myself a break from the running as if the weather cooperates I might try to get an outdoor run in tomorrow morning. Instead I got 5 miles on the bike in, 20 minutes on the stairclimber, and 15 minutes of weights. I plan on some brazillian butt lift either before or after dinner later too as I am definitely starting to see a difference.

At lunch I took the hour and ran over to the mall. I grabbed a gift for my cousin's son, as we are going to his third birthday party tomorrow, and I also got a few other errands out of the way with while I was over there. Its amazing how much you can accomplish when its just you to worry about.

This afternoon is a little more reading and then it will be time to pack up as I have classroom training next week over at our other office. Next weeks postings might be a little sporadic since it looks like they have our days pretty filled.

Well on that note I am going to wrap this up. Hope everyone has a good start to the weekend and I will be back tomorrow with party pics.

Taking advantage of the weather

Hey everyone, Happy Thursday. This week has gone by pretty quick probably because of the holiday on Monday. I split up my cardio again today. At the gym this morning I got in 2.6 miles on the treadmill, 15 minutes eliptical, and 10 minutes of rowing/abs.

At work today the marketing department brought us breakfast from Panera. Now I can normally pass up more fattening breakfast choices, but they had my favorite cinnamon cruch bagels, so I did partake in one and a half of them.

To counter the extra calorie intake I did take advantage of the continued unseasonably warm weather (well warm for MA in Feb. 50's) and headed back on the trail.

Today i got in another 2.45 miles of walking. This particular trail as I mentioned in my last post is pretty hilly and I also added my ankle weights that I bought for my brazillian butt lift workouts so I got some decent calorie burn in. I still haven't had time for fully explore how far back it goes, but I walked as far as my wholesale club which I could see from the highway

I really like my afternoon walks as right now its too dark to run in the early morning, so while I'm not running during this time, I am still able to benefit from the Vitamin D the sun provides, as well as the fresh air.
I did hear we might get a little snow tonight. While I can't really complain since its that time of year, I kinda hope we dont so I can get another one of these walks in tomorrow.

This afternoon was more training and reading. We are going to start in person workshops next week, so I will have to readjust the exercise and get the bigger chunk of it done in the am.

Well its almost time to get these guys so I should probably wrap it up for today.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

Lunchtime Exploring

Hey everyone Happy Tuesday. Had yesterday off and between catching up on laundry and hanging out with the kiddos there wasn't much time to blog. Today started with a good session at the gym. I overslept a little so I didn't get my weight portion in but got 5 miles on the bike, 20 minutes on the precor, and 1.25 miles on the treadmill done.

At work today we started our official training. Feels weird since I have been here almost two months, but glad to start getting the formal training so that I am as productive as I can be once I start working on these accounts.

At lunch I started the detox from last week with a nice salad with tuna. I then headed outside since its still unseasonably warm I wanted to get a little walk in. There is a trail that I can see from my parking lot but I never really ventured onto it, so today I figured I would check it out.

The trail actually goes quite a distance back. Since I only had 30 minutes allocated to walk I turned around a mile in but I felt like I got a nice little workout in

I got another 2.17 miles of walking in so I'm pretty close to keeping on track for my 4 mile a day goal. I might get the rest in while dinner is cooking but I'll see what my energy levels look like.

Tonight is pot pie night which is always super yummy but when I have a bigger dinner like that I try to keep it lighter during the day. Lately my colleagues have all taken turns bringing in dessert to the office. While the gesture is really nice of them, I feel like its setting me up to fall back into old habits of when I was a lot bigger. I feel conflicted though because I want to be social at the same time. I still got a little bit of time to decide but since I'm trying to start detoxing from all the heavy foods and drinking last week I might pass on this one.

Well on that note I should get back to my prework for my training session tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

Back from the conference

Hey everyone Happy Friday. Sorry for the mia but with the conference this week I had to conserve what little time I had left for sleep.

To recap the trip, we headed down on Monday into Boston. We ended up staying at the Boston Copley Marriot. For those farmilliar with the case it was the scene of the Craiglist Killings that was in the news a couple years back.

Thankfully nothing like that happened on our trip.

I roomed with my friend Pam. Our room was pretty nice

Part of me was grateful for the break, since the weekend before we had been dealing with the stomach bug, but it was kind of a bummer to miss valentines day.

Despite staying out late, and drinking way more than I ever would normally I still managed to get my butt down to the gym. I ran 4 miles each day and did weights a few of those days too. This pic of the gym is a little blurry since I didnt want people to think I was a weirdo but it was pretty nice for a hotel gym.

Getting up that early also let me see some nice sunrises. Our view from our room was pretty nice

Most of our events were more business casual but unlike Kronos, Skillsoft actually dresses up for their award dinners so I got another use out of the dress I wore to my nieces wedding.

It was nice to get home today and get back into the routine of daily life.
I got 3.12 miles in on the treadmill 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes of weights.

At work I am starting to get things organized now that I have the team I will be supporting. I got a chance to meet them all at the conference and it seems like they will be a very cool group to work with.

At lunch I started the food detox in and got a nice salad which is just what the doctor ordered after all that heavy food. After the salad I got some fresh air outside and got another two miles of walking in.

The rest of today will be organizing and the start of research so on that note I am going to get back to work. Hope everyone had a good week and I will get back to setting goals for next week tomorrow.

Fattening Friday

Hey everyone, TGIF. This week actually went by pretty fast and next week we are going to have our sales kickoff meeting so I'm sure that will as well.
Today started with a shortened session at the gym since I overslept. 2.5 miles on the treadmill, 15 minutes on the eliptical, and 15 minutes of weights.

For lunch today I finally had my chance to experience a burger at Red Robin.
I had always seen the commercials and they finally built one at the mall that I got to so I went to lunch with a couple of my friends from work.
I ended up with a bacon cheeseburger, it was tasty but a little pricey and obviously not the best calorie choice, but it sure did taste good.

I did also finally find my ankle weights. I started with the 2.5 per weight kind to see how they feel. I've been walking around the office with them to test them out, and I hope to be able to try them with the brazillian butt lift dvd later tonight.

This weekend I hope to get an outdoor run or two in but its supposed to snow tomorrow so we'll see. I also have to pack and start planning for
the kids while I'm away so its not too much trouble for hubby. So that's pretty much what's on tap

Well a little under an hour to go before the weekend so I should start getting things organized. Hope everyone has a good start to the weekend.

The hunt for ankle weights

Hi everyone, Happy Tuesday. Feeling much better after heading to bed early last night. I think I might try that again tonight as I got both a good workout in and made a dent in the laundry before work today.

At the gym I got in 3.13 miles on the treadmill, 6 miles on the bike and 5 minutes of rowing. When I got home I also got in half of my brazillian butt lift high and tight dvd, with hopes that I would do the floor work with ankle weights after dinner tonight.

At lunchtime I headed over to target in search of these

Unfortunately I instead found an empty shelf where they should be so apparently they are more of a popular item than I thought. If I feel energetic I might try the target near my house later

The trip to target wasn't a total loss though. I didn't take pics of the goodies in case any of my family comes on to read but I got the kiddies a little bit of candy and a couple other small little trinkets so I can make them all little goody bags. I also got a cute card for hubby. I might end up giving them their presents early because my company is having its sales kickoff next week so we will be away most of the week.

I am looking forward to the mommy break, however its my first valentines day away from the kids since they were born so I'm a little bummed about that.

The walking to and from the car and around the mall definitely covered another mile so I got my four in for the day. Tonight is chicken parm night and I can't wait to get home and start cooking I'm starved. I will also try to squeeze in the showers while things are cooking so hubby can get a good workout in too.

Welll hope everyone is having a good day. I will be back tomorrow with more exciting adventures and hopefully a sore backside if I can track down those weights :-)

Fun Weekend Tough Loss

Hey everyone, Happy Monday. Well not exactly happy being a Pats fan and all but another start to the week. The day started today with a modified session at the gym since I had company until late last night, followed by some insomnia and about 4 hours of sleep total. I got 2.5 miles on the treadmill, 15 mins eliptical, 15 mins of weights and abs and the 10 minute bum bum rapido brazillian butt lift dvd done.

To recap the weekend Friday I ended up going home early because of my cold and got my foodshopping out of the way with. Saturday I went to the gym in the morning and then spent most of the day doing prep for the buffet

Everything came out good however I should know better that to eat that kelbasi as I think that had a lot to do with my insomnia last night.
Prior to the big game I ran a 5k with my sis in the morning. We ran the 1.74 miles from my house to the starting line as a warmup so we got almost 5 miles in total in for the day.

I finished in 26:49 although it was unchipped and there was no obvious start signal so I probably actually did a little better than that. I was 36 out of 88 runners for my age division.

There I am starting out well most of me as I ran very close to the guy taking the pic

Here I am finishing, yes I look like I'm about to collapse because by then with my cold I was super dehydrated I was also waving my arms to try to get my son's attention to take a pic of me finishing which turned out worse looking than this one if you can believe that.

But I beat this guy with the stroller who I was neck and neck with the whole time so that was a small victory :-)

Here is my sis number 109 finishing, she is much more photogenic than I when running

So we know by now how the game turned out so I'm not going to dwell on that. Instead I wanted to recap the goals and results for last week.

My goals were
Mileage at least 4 miles a day
Weights 15 mins 4x
Biking 15 miles
Crosstrain at least 4 20 minute sessions including other cardio machines or brazillian butt lift

Results
29.09 miles run/walking
9.2 miles on bike
5 sessions of brazillian butt lift
3- 15 minute sessions of eliptical
3- 15 minute sessions of weights
15 minutes of rowing
15 minutes of stairclimber

I'm pleased with this work. While I didn't hit every goal I did mix it up quite a bit which hopefully will help me to prevent from plateauing or gaining back some weight. Now that the superbowl and birthdays are over I'm hoping to eat a little more cleanly although next week I will be on a business trip so we will see how well that works out.

As far as goals for this week I am going to keep them the same. Welll time to get back to work so hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Feel a cold coming on

Happy Thursday everyone. The day itself is going by pretty quickly but I am dragging as I got fragmented sleep and I feel like a cold might be coming on so good thing I have a steady and free supply of tea here at work

The day started with a good session at the gym. 3.1 miles on the treadmill, 15 minutes on the eliptical and 10 minutes of rowing/abs. I headed home and
got everyone breakfast then to keep up with my crosstraining goals I did
the standing and floor band sections of brazillian butt lift high and tight
I hope to do the floor work with ankle weights as well but I need to purchase some so we will see how that works out.

At work today I booked my first appointment, which is good. I am technically still in ramp mode so I will get compensated regardless but its
good to get practice for when I have my permanent territory. At lunch my colleague and I got another mile of walking in. We started outside but its
substantially colder out so we brought it back inside.

This afternoon I will be following up on some web leads and doing some more reading so I am off to start back up on that. Hope everyone has a good
rest of the day.

Jumping on the smoothie bandwagon

Happy Wednesday, we are halfway through the week and supposedly its a nice day out which I will confirm after this conference call I am on is finished.

The day started with a good session at the gym. 4.3 miles on the treadmill, and 15 minutes of weights.

When I headed home I was hungry but wanted to get my brazillian butt lift dvd done too. So before I put that on,I got the kids breakfast ready and had half of a naked juice smoothie that I had bought to try the other day.

I tried the Power C one that has strawberries, and guava amongst other fruits blended in. Since it has two servings I drank half and plan on finishing it tomorrow post gym. It was the perfect replenisher for me, as I typically wait to eat breakfast until I get to work, and sometimes I need something that hour between to refuel myself. I got my husband the blueberry one to try, so I will let you know what he thinks. I would highly recommend them though and will definitely be adding them into my rotation to help with my fruit intake.

This afternoon I plan on getting a little walk in with a couple of my colleagues so hopefully we can get another mile or so in. Time to go finish up this call, so I will be back tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.
