Don't know how smoothly I'm keeping things running lately

Hi Everyone, I know its been a while so I finally got a chance to log in and let you know that I'm still alive. Fitness wise I have been keeping active although I feel like my schedule has limited my duration but something is better than nothing. Food wise I haven't been doing as well. I have definitely been using food as a comfort and am about 5 lbs heavier than I was at this time last year. I know what I have to do to reverse this trend its just getting back into a routine of more healthy food and fewer treats, and definitely an increase in sleep as I know I'm burning the candle at both ends. Last Friday I took a day off from work to spend with Grace, Tim, and Connor since they were off from school for vacation. We visited the Children's Museum of New Hampshire which was really fun.
It was really fun to spend the day watching them discover and play and it was nice not to think about all the daily stresses. Saturday was week two of soccer. I am coaching or assistant coaching three teams this year so its definitely a busy day, but watching kids at the differet levels of play is really cute and we always have a fun time. I must confess that the orange handout time is my favorite part though ;-)
As far as races I think I am reevaluating the race a month resolution from earlier in the year. I definitely want to do my half in the fall, even possibly a full one if i can get a training schedule that will work for my lifestyle but with hubby being out and us being behind on so many things I feel guilty doing the smaller races when that 25-30$ can go towards something else we need. So I am going to continue to run but I am going to cut down on the monthly races and maybe aim for a every other month race at this point. On the work front things are going pretty good, I'm starting to get the hang of things and am just working more on time management to get everything done to the best of my ability but I definitely feel more organized than I did a month ago. On the kid front everyone is doing well. Grace is excited for her 7th birthday this week which will mean cake and cupcakes to try to avoid eating too much of but her little smile is worth it. The boys are all doing well and getting bigger and noisier everyday you especially notice it on rainy days like today. Hubby is doing some work for his brother part time and continuing to network for new opportunities so I am helping as much as I can from my network and hopefully something good will come along soon. So I think that covers everyone. I will try to get back again to post soon and hopefully things will be running a little smoother then :)

The week got away from me...

Hey everyone I fully intended to blog yesterday but the day just got away from me which is happening a lot with all of life's responsibilities feel like I should change the name of this blog to barely keeping it running :)

Easter was good. The kids of course were spoiled as usual (Thank you target bins and Michaels)


This week has been pretty crazy.

Monday we had Jake's band concert

Tuesday we had our first soccer practice we are coaching three teams this year including Connor's micro team

Last night I was up way too late getting the taxes filed which thank God are nothing like what we owed last year, and tonight was bingo for books night at the kids school (No picture here, I was manning three cards and that bingo caller was not fooling around with her speed)

On the exercise front I have been keeping up with the exercise getting some good outdoor mileage in and a few trips to the gym. I am however still struggling with stress eating and am up 5 lbs so I am trying to get a better handle on that.

This weekend is the start of the soccer season so I will try my best to be back with an update earlier next week. Hope everyone is staying active and has a good end to week.

Weekend recap and the start of April

Hey everyone was planning on blogging last night but I was exhausted and sleep won out so figured I would do what is becoming my weekly check in at lunch today.

This morning started out pretty good. I got 5.38 miles in this morning. It was a little chilly but its nice to see that its getting light again in the morning. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I can start leaving for my runs before 6 and go a little bit longer to start upping the mileage.

On the family front things are pretty status quo. Hubby is looking for a new job and doing some work for his brother in the meantime and we are trying to keep our heads above water. Luckily our families have been very supportive but I think its starting to take a little bit of a toll on me as I have been definitely turing to not the greatest food for comfort and have been finding it somewhat hard to concentrate and keep everything straight.

Luckily my job is going well, and we still have each other despite the financial stress. This weekend we got some fun time in with the kiddos. Yesterday we took a hike with everyone at the Carlisle State forrest.





I almost got a good Christmas card picture nominee out of the batch too but I swear its impossible to get them all to look at you and smile at the same time


We probably coverered about three miles or so and the kids all had a good time.




The exercise also helped the afternoon at home get a lot quieter

Well since I need to get my 8 appointments this month I better get back to it. Hope everyone has a good week and is staying active.
